It has been SO long, I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted a blog, and I'm so so sorry, but I'm back again and hope to keep up at it this time.
This past Monday I got back from a little vacation in California. Well, if we're going to be all technical about it, it was Tuesday morning because it was 1:00 am. So yeah it was super late, and I had to get up pretty early the next morning for school.
Why was I in California? I went there for a mini vacation with my family because my mom just recently celebrated her 50th birthday, and really wanted to go somewhere. Wow, 50 years, that's a LONG time. So she decided on San Francisco, California, so I packed my bags and headed West; fortunately on a plane and not in a covered wagon like the settlers.
(I got my shirt at Kohl's before we left; it was a long sleeve shirt that said "Cali Life" on the front with the typical California bear, and it had "California" down the sleeve. $5.00 on clearance yo!)
The flight was good, we landed safely and that's really the only concern I had. I've been on multiple planes before so I'm never super scared, but I always get a feeling of "what if we don't make it" or "what if we crash?" I think everyone gets a bit nervous on a flight. (BTW side note: you can always tell first time fliers - they are the ones staring out the windows the whole time and points out sights to the person sitting next to them, no matter if they know them or not.)
Now the one unfortunate thing about the trip was the temperature of San Francisco was usually around the same temperature of Iowa at the time. The last 2 days were a bit hotter, but not by much. The wine country on the other hand was SO nice; it was around 80 degrees. Unlike Iowa though it wasn't humid, so the heat felt even better. Humidity is nasty and makes you feel all sticky and gross; UGH!
Anyways, the city of San Francisco is absolutely beautiful! I mean, taking into consideration everyone lives on top of each other and literally there is not much breathing room, it's still gorgeous. When we rode the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) subway system from the airport into the city, all we could see were pastel pink, blue, green, yellow, creams, and all other color houses lined up on all of the numerous hills. If the rent for a 1 bedroom apartment wasn't as much as $5,000 a month for a starting price, I may have considered living there one day.
Out of all the things we did on the trip, my favorite was probably the drive down the coast on Highway 1. My mom has always had a dream of driving a convertible down the west coast on Highway 1 with her hands up in the air...guess what...we accomplished that. "Check" that off the bucket list.

That ride was basically the highlight of the trip for me. I don't want to do a day by day replay of what we did because a) this post is already pretty long, and b) I already vlogged everyday and they are all on my YouTube channel so just head on over there and check them out! (Links below.)
Overall, this trip to San Francisco was so much fun and I hope someday I'll get the chance to go back to the City by the Bay. Hmmmmmmm, so #SpringBreak2k16 anybody???
Oh, and by the way, I did buy some awesome San Francisco and California apparel while there, I mean I already screamed tourist enough, why not add some more fun into the mix. :)
Thanks for reading! I'll be posting again soon...
