Christmas is right around the corner, for me at least. Some of you may celebrate this time differently, different occasions, different meanings, but that doesn't matter for this topic. Recently, in the midst of the Christmas spirit I've been surrounded with, I finally have started enjoying giving.
Each year I would always have a few people I would be getting presents for, at that was always so much fun. Finding cool things that matched my friends' personality and wrapping them all up with bows and gift wrap put a smile on their face. Now that I am making money with working limited hours, I have the ability to give back to the community and more people in my life.
A few shopping trips to the obvious stores, Target, Kohl's, etc. have been made, with many more online shopping experiences left. I realize Christmas it literally in 6 days...but I have been busy, so I really need to wrap up my Christmas shopping. No pun intended.
Basically what I'm trying to say is this year I've really enjoyed being able to buy nice presents for people and being able to give back some money and thoughts to others. Now it's not always about the presents, of course it's the thought, but giving gifts make me happy, and also make others happy so it's a total win/win situation.
I love the holiday season around Christmas. For the most part joy is being spread, and it's the season of giving. Ah I love it so much.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!

"It's Raining" Thoughts
Currently it's raining. Rain makes me just want to curl up in a blanket and watch Netflix all day. If only life worked like that right? Ah, oh well, we all get some of those days; it's called childhood. When you're young and have no responsibilities you can pretty much do whatever and not have to worry about responsibilities as much as when you get older. When you're older and have a job and homework and maybe a girlfriend/boyfriend, those days just disappear.
I just feel that as we get older and older, we loose innocence and the feelings of innocence. We focus too much on what we have to get done and who will be mad if we don't and those sorts of things. Thinking on it, it sounds awful; to be in a constant state of worrying. Very few people get the chance to actually go back and have those "lazy days." I miss them. They were so nice. Now when I try to sit and watch something, I forget I had homework, or I get a call/text I need to reply to. It sucks honestly.
I talked about this with one of my friends once. We someone got on the topic of being busy and never having time to do stuff we love. Of course I do YouTube, and that's something I love, but I am always so rushed to do it. I hardly every have time to film, and when I edit I do it as fast as I can cause I usually have something else going on. I don't want it to be something I have to rush through. It's not as fun that way. Basically my friend told me that one day I would get a day sometime where I just did nothing, and accepted it. That day has not come yet, and I could really use a stress-free day.
When we try to have a day that's stress-free, it seems like everything goes against that, and it turns out to be a day filled with stress and it turned out to be so much worse than you planned it to be. That idea is kind of how I feel about vacations. At least for my family, it's fun to plan and fun to get there, but when you're somewhere new you're constantly checking locations and trying to get somewhere without dying. Then you fight with other family members and everyone just gets mad. It's a vicious cycle, and it seems vacations are way more stress than they need to be. It's supposed to be a time of relaxing a fun, but it can end up being a dreaded experience.
Just a few thoughts from me as I sit at my desk, glancing out of the window as this mass of rain hits the pavement.

Getting My First Job
First jobs are always something special, and mark a great time of change in your life. My first job was gained back on December 15th, but since my blog posts have been very rare, it's probably been that song since I was constantly posting.
I was very picky when I was applying for jobs; which may not have been the best. I knew I didn't want to work with food, which ruled out sit down restaurants and fast food restaurants. I also didn't want to work at a grocery store, because I felt those jobs were always offered and you just got right in. A little bit of competition was something I was looking for; the possibility of rejection but satisfaction if I got the job. Weird, I know.
So I applied to Menards, which sort of like a Home Depot/Lowe's sort of store. It's basically a "whatever you need" kind of store. It's based in the Midwest so if you live in a different around of the country or world you've probably never heard of it. A call came about a month or so later (my application had gotten misplaced or something when I applied so they got to it really late), and I had an interview set up. The day of the interview I was SO nervous, and when I get nervous and have to talk, I blurb up a lot of my words. Luckily I did pretty well in the interview, and found I was talking slowly and was honestly pretty calm; the nerves had just built up beforehand.
A second call came a few days later with the manager saying that I could start working and needed to come in for a few days of orientation. After orientation was done and I passed my cashiering test, I was set up to work 3 weekends in a row, since it was around Christmas and people had already asked for time off. The shift on Saturday was 1-9, and Sunday's shift was 1-8. Those first couple weeks were long and rough, but that first paycheck was a LOT!
Then things settled down and I got into my schedule and the routine of it. I'm still trying to learn where everything is in the store because the store is huge and has so many different departments. It also doesn't help that merchandise gets moved around all the time.
For all of you younger folks looking to get a job; be confident and just get one. It may not always be fun and you may dread having to go to work, but as long as you like what you're doing and who you're working with, you will have a fun time. You know what I've said before; "be happy and do what you love." Well I mean I said it once in a video and put it on a whiteboard in my room but, I still think about that all the time.

Five Favorite Photos Friday (California Edition)
Five Favorite Photos Friday is BACK! The next few or so I am going to have be about pictures that I took in California when we went there just recently. So without further a due...
This was taken right before we took off to San Francisco. It had just started to rain as soon as we had gotten on the plane.
(Samsung Galaxy Camera)
We were at Pier 39 looking down at the sea lions, so I snapped a quick picture of my mom.
(Samsung Galaxy Camera)
Just a "little" rock. At least from where I was standing it was little. It's this cool rock right on the side of the Golden Gate Bridge. I just love how the water seems to go from green to blue up the picture.

People in California are ALL about the selfies! I have (creepily) many photos of people taking selfies, but I think this one is just cool. :)

At Twin Peaks my sister asked me to take some pictures for her that she could use for profile pictures or just have. I think this one is the best out of the shots I got.

My Vacation to California!
Hey everyone! Long time...no blog post!
It has been SO long, I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted a blog, and I'm so so sorry, but I'm back again and hope to keep up at it this time.
This past Monday I got back from a little vacation in California. Well, if we're going to be all technical about it, it was Tuesday morning because it was 1:00 am. So yeah it was super late, and I had to get up pretty early the next morning for school.
Why was I in California? I went there for a mini vacation with my family because my mom just recently celebrated her 50th birthday, and really wanted to go somewhere. Wow, 50 years, that's a LONG time. So she decided on San Francisco, California, so I packed my bags and headed West; fortunately on a plane and not in a covered wagon like the settlers.
The flight was good, we landed safely and that's really the only concern I had. I've been on multiple planes before so I'm never super scared, but I always get a feeling of "what if we don't make it" or "what if we crash?" I think everyone gets a bit nervous on a flight. (BTW side note: you can always tell first time fliers - they are the ones staring out the windows the whole time and points out sights to the person sitting next to them, no matter if they know them or not.)
Now the one unfortunate thing about the trip was the temperature of San Francisco was usually around the same temperature of Iowa at the time. The last 2 days were a bit hotter, but not by much. The wine country on the other hand was SO nice; it was around 80 degrees. Unlike Iowa though it wasn't humid, so the heat felt even better. Humidity is nasty and makes you feel all sticky and gross; UGH!
Anyways, the city of San Francisco is absolutely beautiful! I mean, taking into consideration everyone lives on top of each other and literally there is not much breathing room, it's still gorgeous. When we rode the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) subway system from the airport into the city, all we could see were pastel pink, blue, green, yellow, creams, and all other color houses lined up on all of the numerous hills. If the rent for a 1 bedroom apartment wasn't as much as $5,000 a month for a starting price, I may have considered living there one day.
Out of all the things we did on the trip, my favorite was probably the drive down the coast on Highway 1. My mom has always had a dream of driving a convertible down the west coast on Highway 1 with her hands up in the air...guess what...we accomplished that. "Check" that off the bucket list.

(I got my shirt at Kohl's before we left; it was a long sleeve shirt that said "Cali Life" on the front with the typical California bear, and it had "California" down the sleeve. $5.00 on clearance yo!)

That ride was basically the highlight of the trip for me. I don't want to do a day by day replay of what we did because a) this post is already pretty long, and b) I already vlogged everyday and they are all on my YouTube channel so just head on over there and check them out! (Links below.)
Overall, this trip to San Francisco was so much fun and I hope someday I'll get the chance to go back to the City by the Bay. Hmmmmmmm, so #SpringBreak2k16 anybody???
Oh, and by the way, I did buy some awesome San Francisco and California apparel while there, I mean I already screamed tourist enough, why not add some more fun into the mix. :)
Thanks for reading! I'll be posting again soon...

Vlogmas!!!
Now to preface this post...if you do not know what Vlogmas is...I will tell you now. :)
Vlogmas: the unofficial term for YouTuber's that vlog every day in December up until Christmas and typically follow up the Vlogmas month with a "What I Got For Christmas" video.
Vlog: the unofficial YouTube term for video blogging.
This year I decided that maybe I should try Vlogmas. Last year when I started my channel it was already after Christmas since my first video was a "What I Got For Christmas" video. Also, I was in no way ready to try and upload 24 videos, with one each night. This year I am still not ready to fully undertake the 24 days with school just getting out for break today, and also starting a new job.
So far I have 6 vlogs up for Vlogmas, and I am working on more to upload as Christmas get nearer. (Day 7 should be up within the next few days.)
If you are interested in watching any of them I'll have the ones I've done already linked at this end of this post so it's easy access for you. :)
My month of December is basically school until today, the 19th, and then it's the busy Christmas week and then Christmas, then New Years, etc. I'm not sure if I'll keep going up to New Years so I have a few more vlogs or what. I'm not sure. We'll see how this goes. It's a learning experience. I hope you will enjoy the work I put into these, because it does take a bit of time to just even do a simple edit vlog video.
I WILL be doing another "What I Got For Christmas 2014" video this year because it was my first video last year. It may sound kinda stupid but I may want to make that tradition, since that was the start to my channel and where I have gotten today, which is 41 subscribers and over 4,000 views, and 126 videos. That's not a lot compared to a lot of people out there who YouTube as well but to me it's pretty awesome. Love you all!

I've Been Gone...
Hey guys, it's been too long...
My last post was on August 15, 2014, which was way too long ago.
School caught up with me, homework grew in amount, activities started, and the process of getting a job have all made it hard to keep up posting on my blog and YouTube channel.
I'm so sorry I haven't been on here much. I meant to post this a lot sooner but it just never happened. I hope to be more frequent on here after this.
My YouTube channel has grown in views, videos, and subscribers. I'm so happy with the progress that has been going on and I hope you all continue to support me there.
I just wanted to make this little post to notify you that I haven't died and I'm still here. :)
Sorry it's been long...
This is short so enjoy some photos...
