I told my sister to be ready to do a shoot when I got home from school on Wednesday a few weeks ago, so we could start right away. She had just gotten back from college and she was leaving again in about a month for a lawyer internship. Anyway, I got off the bus that afternoon, and started to set up in the basement.
My plan for the shoot was to have my sister sit in a chair in the middle of our basement with all the lights off, and one of my studio photography lights on her, making a makeshift black background, since I didn't have an actual background. I had tested my idea a few days before, and it worked, but I had to turn the exposure down a bit to make sure you couldn't see anything in the background.
I have two cameras that would do the job; the Samsung Galaxy Camera, and a Canon PowerShot ELPH 110 HS, but unfortunately, my Samsung Galaxy Camera had to be sent in for repairs, so I went back to my trusty dusty Canon PowerShot. I went into the exposure settings on the camera and turned it down to -2, which ended up working perfectly.
Now on to the pictures!!! All of these were editing with GimpShop 2.0, with minor touch ups, a bit of Saturation, and Black & White for...well I'm sure you can tell which ones those are. :)
This one was touched up and saturated a bit.
This one was also touched up and saturated a bit.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures and my first blog post about my photos. If you'd like to see more of my pictures or have me talk about how I go about editing or taking photos, let me know and I'd be glad to! Yes I do have a tag on my photos (Isaac's Photography) because my sister has this problem where she won't "Photo Cred" me in the pictures I do for her so I solved that problem. Haha have a good rest of your day...or night!
